Does anyone have tips on how I can learn about network rendering. I've got 5 macs and was wondering if I can put them all to work.

Renderfarm commander is your best bet in my opinion, never had a problem with it, I also render on mac/pc's

Also, support is 100% - Bruce is on top of things if you have a question or comments, im very very pleased.

I agree with Matt. I have had nothing but good things to say about Render farm commander.

And I agree with both of them.

RFC is the way to go.

I've published an in-depth tutorial on using LWSN, with the built-in controller, as well as with external controllers...

Mastering LWSN on the Macintosh: LightWave 8 ScreamerNet for Mac OS X (http://www.dreamlight.com/insights/10/welcome.html)

Hope it helps,

I have to add my voice to the list in favor of Renderfarm commander.

IMO, time is too valuable to be screwing around with command line errors and all that goes along with doing Screamer Net the "hard" way.

RFC is the kind of solution a busy person needs to get things running so that s/he can get on with other things.

Plus, RFC is a great "traffic cop" for controlling what gets rendered when and how, which is something I think reflects a more real-world environment than racking up your files to render and then either being stuck with that, or stopping the whole show and setting up a new way.
