View Full Version : Weightmap Problem

When I open my scene file, the Weight Maps of my character are no longer assigned to bones ... so I have to reset them again.

I've not had this happen before... I've tried workarounds like locking the bones, but the Spreadsheet still shows blanks when I open the file. What am I doing wrong?? Any help much appreciated

Do you have the weightmaps assigned to the actual skelegons in modeler and saved with the object file?

Hmmm, thanks for the suggestion, Steve, but, nope, I'm using the bones of a mocap file that I brought into Layout...

I've edited the bones (moving and resizing etc) to fit the character, assigned them to weight maps and produced test animations that work fine...

Next time I open the scene the bones are no longer assigned to weightmaps, so the character turns into Mr Fantastic!

I can live with it for now, but it's an annoyance and taking 20 minutes or so to fix every time I start work. Mighty strange... Any other ideas?
