if so what codec and settings. I have a bunch of Jumpbacks, and some videos that are in my Avid system that I don't want to dump to tape, and then import back into the tricaster....can I use Sorenson or something with the tricaster codec and just drop them in the clip directory on the tricaster.

Aspect Size 720 x 480 or 486
AVI or MPG2 or WMV

You can try exporting from the avid as a QT reference and encode it using your favourite encoder. We use procoder2 or flip factory (pro-encode) to either a WMV, MPEG2 or MPEG1.

The thing abt the MPEG2 is that you need a MPEG2 decoder on your tricaster. you may wish to try FFDSHOW which is a free decoder and works pretty well for a lot of fomats including XviD and DivX codecs.

Once done, you can just copy the file to the tricaster or map the network drive and play it off there. if you're running iVGA and streaming at the same time, you definately need the 1000baseT backbone on your network.

AVI would probably be easiest.
