Why does Lightwave make me believe Mac is not the right platform for it????
I'm not the most advanced user of Lightwave around but i'm sure that if there was so much trouble with it on te pc as is on mac it wouldn't be that popular...
Apart from this i hope that someone can tell me if there is a reliable place for getting plugins..(tested and clear of platform)
I've been searching the net for 2 days for a plugin that can make my objects fall apart in a narural way after hit by a collision object. Not the poligons but believable parts.
The only one's i found compatible with mac was "C4 destruct" but that gives a failure "Line 307, invalid object method line()" and Crackit came up with "Fatal: Code 001"
Ofcourse These are no Newtek plugins but to me this means that there is no way to blow up objects in a natural way on a mac.....
I hope someone gets me out of this before i start buying PC's

Well, I 'm sure I'm gonna start a huge argument over this, but Mac has never been very strong in 3D. Look at the historics. I'm sure someone will chim in with how wrong I am but the fact of the matter is that most 3D is produced on PCs. ****, at the end of the Increadables it said it was rendered on Intel machines! Obviously it wasn't because steve jobs couldn't get them a good deal. And before everyone starts. I use Mac. I use PC. It's a TOOL! not a religious affiliation :) What I'm really looking forwrd to is what happens when Apple starts producing the intel chip macs. What will that mean for 3D? It's obvious across the board that creatie professionals tend to lean toward macs (you can argue that among yourselves) so will 3D go that route too? No more doing your 3D on a PC then comping it in AE on a Mac? No more painting your textures on your mac then bringing them into the PC for modeling? Sounds like a wonderful world. Unfortunately, not hear yet.

OK a bit silly of me, didn't want to start the mac pc discussion, although i agree with you on this Lottmedia, but that happens when you get dissapointed....Lets come to business...Is there someone on mac who used "C4 destruct" or "Crackit" with succes?????????? or is the mac compatibility rubish...let's hope not!

Thanx that you want to try!
I have the same discussion going on Simply Lightwave. There they tell me it's a Lscript problem.
Tried to mail the makers of C4 destruct because this is on their website:Mac Users : Currently, only C4 : Destruct will work on a Mac (since it's an Lscript). You can use it to break up your objects and use the Output feature to save your pieces as individual objects for use with other 3d party plugins in Layout.
What looks promissing...but does'nt work as you know. And their mailis down...got it back.
Hope to hear your results soon

I think the last time C4 destruct worked on a Mac was in OS 9 times and then only on certain versions of Lscript.
