View Full Version : Those pesky shadows

Stupid thing. I can't seem to recreate those depth specific shadows. What the blazes am I not doing? I have a specific requirement to show shadowson a building that increase in bluriness the further they get from the object. I tend to use a single spotlight. I have stopped using shadow maps as the edge blurring is constant and looks unflattering.

Any advice would be welcome.

You'll have to use area lights. If you still want a spotlight cone effect, you'll have to build a light culler or whatever they're called. Or you could use an array of spinning spotlights. Either one of these methods will work.
