I followed the directions mentioned on this link to a "T" and yet see no UI color changes in LW 8.3. Default colors look nasty to me (just an opinion).

Anyone know of a possible remedy? I made sure that LW hub, modeler, and layout was closed, but no dice.

Did you copy and paste the numbers into your hub config file. This is the only thing i can think of its works fine for me and ive not heard of anyone else having problems.

Dont forget you cannot get all colors into the LightWave UI.

BackgroundColor 110 110 110
StateButtonColor 127 130 127
ActionButtonColor 130 127 130
ToolButtonColor 127 127 130
DialogButtonColor 127 127 127
DragButtonColor 127 130 127
InfoAreaColor 110 110 110
InfoAreaTextColor 000 000 000

This is what's in the file. After an uninstall and then fresh re-install the LWHUB.cfg file had nothing in it prior to me copy and pasting the text in it.
Opened the .cfg file with Windows Wordpad, and clicked save.

Surrealist.

Just In case, mine is between these two things. Don't know if it matters:

DialogCenter 570 487
ActionButtonColor 114 125 171
BackgroundColor 56 56 56
DialogButtonColor 77 108 171
DragButtonColor 82 95 135
InfoAreaTextColor 17 17 17
InfoAreaColor 84 84 84
StateButtonColor 68 68 89
ToolButtonColor 108 107 133
ProcessName "LWLayout 8.3" "C:\Program Files\LightWave [8]\Programs\lightwav.exe" "C:\Documents and Setting

It should work. Also try different settings because the backgrond does not change in 8 your choice just may not be noticeable - just a thgought.

There is a rather long thread on www.spinquad.com with a ton of presets. Don't have the link but you can do a search.

Thanks fellows,
There were a few unused folders within Documents and Settings. I kept trying to fix the hub config file in the Main documents folder....but it turns out that the install placed hub config files in multiple folders. I just had to find the right one. Finally worked...it was the only one that already had text .... the rest were empty.

Whew, now the workspace looks much mo' better.
