Does anyone know a successful way to get 3d StudioMax's CharacterStudio MoCap and Footstep data into LW?

Perhaps the FBX import/export plugin.

Actually I've tried FBX and it partially works. It seems not to want to bind the mesh with the skeleton once in LW. But I have found a work-around useing FBX that allows me to save off the motion in MotionMixer so I can apply it to other rigs. I believe Max's CharactorStudio to be a more powerful tool than MotionBuilder or Messiah especially with it's FootSteps function. Does anyone else have the need to do this?

yeah Cs is da biz for mo cap and it's fast foostep animation...

re exporting to lw...if you use max 5+ you can utalise point oven
to move your characters over to lw.

serch google for point oven

it's $99 and works with lw, xsi, max and maya. :thumbsup:
