I know that someone out there has a quick and realistic solution to this ... I need some idea on how to do realistic pool water. I would love a plug-in but if it's only possible manually then instructions would be great. I have searched and found information on water but not outside pool water. I like the stuff hrgigger did in this THREAD (http://vbulletin.newtek.com/showthread.php?t=23408&page=4) but I haven't been able to duplicate that look which is pretty good IMO.

Any ideas? Tutorials?

Thanks guys/gals.

Define 'pool water' ! - depends entirely on what you expect to see in/through it.
- otherwise same as any transparent object, play with combination of relection & refraction settings.
put a bottom on the pool, surface it, give your 'water' surface a bump map, duplicate it & flip it and call it 'air' & paste them together (water points up air points down)
