Hello everyone,

Was rendering this evening and this weird anomaly crept into the render.
Has anyone else come accross this.
The render never finished either. It crashed out Lightwave as well.
It looks weird and fantastic at the same time. A bit like that animation done a few years back of uncompleted faces, can't remember the name.

Any way, all feed back is welcome.

I've run into some strange problems where F-Prime will suddenly render parts of the images black. It seems that if I do a full render, instead of the interactive version, it goes away.

Hello Mr Christophe SL

Yes this indeed was a full render, not the interactive one.

Thanks for the prompt reply.

Interesting - do you have plug-ins or shaders in the scene?

Hi Nigel!

Are there any 1-2 point polys hidding in there? Thats the only time I got weird results...but havent come across it in fp2.0 yet.

Hello All,

Thanks for the pointers.
I have tested the car seperately and it is okay.
So there must be something wrong within the scene file.
The only plugins that are in use is FPrime2 and G2, stopped using shaders along time ago ever since FPrime came out.

Hey Phil I see you have not changed your current avatar.
I like your other new one better, its more you ;-)

It happened to me once and I sent the model to Worley Labs.
I suggest you send it too

The only time I've had things like that happen were with NGons in the scene. Generally 1 or 2 point polys will just cause rounding errors, from what I've seen. But convex or concave NGons will often cause FPrime (and even occasionally Lightwave's native renderer) to completely freak out.
