View Full Version : Liquid Spread

Okay, I've made an animation of somewhat of liquid hitting a ball and settling on the floor. The problem is getting the liquid balls to squash and spread out like water when it hits the floor. Need a little help? Link is below.

I'd probably use a variation of the cloth technique described in this thread rather than HVs:

As far as I know, the only time HVs are not spherical is when they're stretched in the X,Y,Z or Velocity direction. You might make the raw diameter smaller and apply some Velocity stretch, so they're longer as they fall. Or, have them vanish when they stop and model the puddles separately. Or use the cloth technique with multiple "water sheets" and clip maps to get the various splashes.

Thanks for the tip, but there's only one problem, I have Lightwave 7.5 It can't be done in this application, right?

If you use cloth for an effect in 8, you can usually use Motion Designer for the same effect in 7.5

Dodgy, Thank you much for your reply. I will try using the Motion Designer and see if that works. :)
