View Full Version : Fluid Dynamics

I don't know if it posted before, but somebody developed Fluid Dynamics for LightWave.

I think it will be great, if newtek add this feature to LightWave.. Because he also developed custom Volume renderer for LightWave too..

It looks REALLY impressive but it doesn't sound as though we'll be getting our hands on it!

This plug-in should come along with Lw 9!
Well...at least we can desire :D

Why not? Surely there is a lot of demand for it and NT would be stupid not to at least talk to the guys. The volumetric rendering routines alone might be worth a million if they are in fact solving problems of LW's own volumetrics (banding, undersampling etc.). Of course nobody can force them to sell their code, but it sure would be nice. I wonder if NT have ever tried to include similarly useful tools like OGO Taiki and Hikari that are also largely based on volumetric routines...

It just sounded to me as though they wanted to keep it in house. I agree Newtek should talk to them but I wouldn't hold out too much hope! - Baz

If I remember correctly, SoftImage 3D's first cloth solution comes from topix.. They developed some tools for SoftImage and SoftImage add these features to SoftImage 3D later.. so NewTek at least ask them, what can they do..

I also agree OGO's plug-ins are very good and can be added to LightWave9..

Wow, OGO Taiki looks amazing! I hope there will be a Mac version!

That is a nice plugin. I am sure Newtek will do something about the fluid/volume dynamics in v9.

Now that's nice!!
NewTek !! (u know what to do :deal: )

If someone like this guy working inside some other company can write this
kind of code and develop a plugin based on this: http://graphics.stanford.edu/~fedkiw/
it would be very odd that NT could not do the same...

Also, NT if you can, please take this guy's algorithms and rewrite everything!
PLEASE, it is worth it... This kind of simulation is just ULTIMATE compared
to everything else there is and EVERYONE want's this! I just beg you use
this information if it's possible!! :D

I'm sure it would also be a very good marketing value in the future to have
this kind of professional simulation rendering inside Lightwave. :)
