Hello,
I have skelegons placed in modeller, but they are not parented. When I bring them into Layout, convert them to bones, then I need to parent some to others....but when I do this, the bone rotations all change. They still look the same, but they no longer are maintaining their original rotations. I need these because I intend to map mocap data on them and I need them to spin right. How can I parent bones without them spinning?
Thanks,
Erik

Press shift-p to (setup>modify>rotation>record Pivot rotation) set the bone's orientation back when you parent it.

I am trying to get this but still having the same problem. Do I press shift-p before parenting or after? It doesn't seem to do anything either way? Am I missing a step?

Do it after parenting. Can I see your scene?

I will post my scene onto:

www.people.virginia.edu/~ece3k

I will put it in a folder called Lightwave Stuff. It'll be up there in 2 minutes.
Thanks,
Erik

It's up...I put the object and textures up as well.
Thanks for taking a look.
