hi all
The SDK of HL2 was released on deceber 2004, since this moment, just 2 dev plugin has begin.

The first plugin is make by Chris Schafer.

i think it's possible to arrange with Chris Schafer, for work on this exporter with other developer lw plugins.

This project has stop since 25 january 2005 .

An other plugin is good to create static objects, it's good for mapping, but for character animation it's useless.

This project is in 0.3 beta and does not advance since a long time.


HL2 use three types of data . the format of File is SMD extention, is writing in Ascii.
There are 2 type of SMD file , one for models geometry and bones an other for sequence animations. the animation system use quaternions and Lw use Eular Angle for rotation bones.
For applying physic on model, you must export SMD geometry with a reducted poly model.
For Faciale Animation or deformation animation by vertex, an exporter for format VTA is need .

I think Lw must have an exporter for modder community for editing commercial JV like unreal, hl2, doom3.. (for doom3 third party hve make a cool exporter!)

This message is a call for debugging this situtation.
