I'd like to know where the animation time slider is so I can see exactly what time it is at the current frame?

Where is it or how do I get it to show up?

:help:

If you press F1 in Layout and go to the part where it says Layout and click Keyframing it will tell you more about the frame slider. Also reading the manual will cover the basics of navigating the UI.

Press o on the keyboard in Layout to get the display options panel. Frame Slider Label gives you the option to see the timeline in time in seconds, smpte as well as film key code.

EDIT: As you can see in the above post. :)
