Hi, i currently gathering information, for a current essay im needing to be completed for university. The essay subject that ive selected is "history of 2d and 3d computer packages" I was wandering if anyone could tell me, or tell were to get information on the progress, inovations and improvments throught out Newtek's "Lightwave" history?

One theme in your essay could be about how it started with ray tracing, which you can actually program in C, and there are is at least one book from the 70s or 80s that I've seen in an academic library on that... and how all that led to the need for nurbs, metaballs, etc.

In the early 90s, VRML was all the rage, and that's one of the main reasons that a LOT of smaller packages got started, I'd say...
