I finally took the plunge to WindowsXP today and I'm having a hard time installing T[2]. I thought the latest build (3890) was supposed to operate flawlessly under WinXP. I'm installing build 3352 first and then the 3890 patch over it but I keep getting a Real Time Media Engine error. Any ideas guys? THX.

You have to have the 3890 CD from NewTek Rui; what you're trying won't work since no complete build previous to 3890 was written for XP, only W2K.

Yeah, don't.

You need to purchase, and install the 3890 Program CD, which indeed installs VT[2] services on your system.

Hack! Wasn't aware that WindowsXP compatibility was a paid option on build 3890! Great, either back to Win2K to be able to work or spend at least a week waitting for the CD to arrive...wish I had read the fine print.

You also have to have Windows XP Service Pack 1 to run with the 3890 cd. It will also run with Windows 2000 but you do need to have Service Pack 2 or 3 for that.

Thanks. Got the 3890 Installation CD and everything is working smoothly now.

Guess it wasn't a week! Boy, they're fast!

It was fast because I got a hold of a copy of the CD through another user...I'm still waitting for the reply to the email I sent to the only Newtek dealer in my country but I won't go that way...
Newtek Europe has been very responsive whenever I need their help but I'd have to pay a lot to receive the CD through UPS or else need to wait 1-2 weeks to get the CD through normal mail and that was an unaceptable solution since I had work to do. Either through other users or contacting Newtek directly problems usually get solved and that's a very nice thing to know considering how the only local dealer (does not) care about user's necessities.
