Nice little project playing with dramatic lighting. Wanted to avoid the volumetric light streaming thru the window effect tho.

4 area lights and 1 spot light, no G.I. Lightwave renderer, Enhanced Extreme AA gives us a 3hr59min render. which really isn't that great, but I was asleep.

c&c? thx for taking a look.

Nice feel, I like it. Maybe add some variation to the windows, grunge, cracked glass etc.

Good work! This has a nice "atmosphere" to it. The bucket and hose/cable/thing are a nice touch. I applaud you for avoiding the volumetric light look... it has become almost as bad as lens flares nowadays ;)

The only thing that stands out to me is the direction of the light on the window to the far left. If that's supposed to be sunlight outside, the light should all be going the same direction. Otherwise, it looks like someone is shining a floodlight at the window.

Great job overall!

:o so right, so obvious, and so easily overlooked! thx.

loved the lens flare analogy. as far as the light on the floor thing, that's exactly what i would have thought as well. this link to another thread has the reference photograph i used, and the light is doing exactly what we thought it wouldn't. i also provided a screenshot of my light set-up, which is mostly area lights. i tried a distance light for the main sunbeams, but typically the edges were too hard :(.

thx for taking a look :)
