I just saw a video from renascent.nl called CLOSURE, and I wonder how could I do this material and environment in LW?

That was a pretty cool video and I imagine there was a lot of masking and compositing going on. Just for the heck of it I was playing with a way to do it using single-sided text objects. I have a box with refractive surfaces and a mirrored back, the text "MIRRORED" facing forward and positioned slightly behind the box and the text "REFLECTION" facing backwards running into the box.

Ah well, back to work...

Just looks like animated text and refraction, and very professional talent to design and polish an image.

Animating the text would be easy, just map it to a subpatch strip of polygons and use one of a dozen ways to deform it - spline-amate it, displacement map, bones, morphs...

By looking at that image I'm guessing it is 2D with some nifty compositing to give it an illusion of refraction.
