View Full Version : 8.3 Symetrical UV editing not working?

In the past I created a cylindrical UV map for heads,
shifted the UV-map 50% in U direct and was then able
to use symetrical editing with drag, dragnet, magnet.
In 8.3 this is not possible anymore. Is this a bug?
I tested with and without freemove and any kind of
UV interpolation. In 7.5c it is working as expected.
Anyone know a workaround for this.

Also it would be nice to drag the subpatch mesh in UV-view
and not the control points only.

Seems so. Just noticed it myself. 8.3 Mac OSX 10.3.9

a workaround ...
hopefully it will help you:

it's to overlap your UV:

imagine you have half of a face (right side).
select the right side of your face (geometry) and apply your planar uv map in Y (Settings: Automatic on). Close the panel

Select the left side, apply the same projection (UV planar Y ) , but wait !
in projection panel settings this time, uncheck "autosize" to "MANUAL". And put a negative value to X !

is the X value is: 12.5 mm
set the value to -12.5mm (add a minus before the number)

Of course use the same projection layer name

Apply .... and voilą !!!

your geometry is flipped and overlaped .... :D :devil: :thumbsup:
