View Full Version : LWO viewer with normal/spec maps

This is a great little tool.


To use it, you have to follow some rules:

Images and objects have to be in the same folder, and linked correctly. Name your images/objects like this:

X.lwo, X_local.tga (normal map **apply this image in the bump channel), X_s.tga (spec map), X.tga (diffuse map).

"X" is the name of your LWO file, so that means it should look like the following:

box.lwo, box_local.tga, box_s.tga, box.tga. Look at my RAR file.

Sorry Mac guys... Windows only.

Mac or PC, this needs to be in the viewports native to Modeler/Layout :thumbsup: .

i don't think this (http://shadow.krabbit.com/turbo/torque_dts_exporter/tshow.jpg) could be any more lw friendly.. :p ;)

What I like to do is Export with the D-Storm tool to an DirectX .X File, then to view just double click on the .X File.

If you have the latest DirectX SDK installed it should automatically load the model in Mesh Viewer with all textures you assigned to it in Lightwave.

thanx Lamont for this dicovery, i work with LW on Doom3 and HL engine and
i think i 'll use this tools now =)

DX SDK is a huge download, but this viewer does cut the mustard.

What I am amped to see is the per-pixel lighting for LW 8.5. If it does it right, then this little tool will not be needed.
