I always get jumped on for plugging his wieght maps method. But I find it works. So with that caveat asside, it is an absolute must have for an animator if you are going to do character stuff. His appraoch is very logical and it comes from years of actual studio production experience as well as his personal experience doing animation for Kaze Ghost Warrior.

He has a good portion of the book dedicated to the basics of classic traditional animation and has lessons designed to get you to apply it to 3D.

This alone if worth the price of the book. I will never look at 3D Character animation the same again.

I give it a thimbs up.
