I'd like to convert the Bone Falloff to a weight map for game export.
I know Layout bones are more lattice deformers than traditionnal bones.
It may not be possible to convert them to weights because the influence % per vertex may change according to their position.

Anyway, any tips on this would be great. I hope there is a way around because the bone algortihm in Layout is really great.

Vertex Paint is able to create weightmaps that should match Layouts bone falloff. Obviously you'll need skelegons in modeler for it to work with. Once you've started Vertex Paint, click the Weight-tab, then Calc-tab.

Also, I don't think bone influence can change over time except under one condition, that Use Morphed Position is active. But even under those circumstances, something other than just the bones themselves must displace the geometry to make the influence change. It's a fun option to play with though... Get load bones. It allows you to load bones from a scene into modeler as skelegons, which you'll then be able to use in vertex paint to generate weights from.

Assign weights from here will then allow you to assign these weightmaps in layout so you don't have to do it by hand.
