View Full Version : Manual Vertex Normals Editing?

Is there any way beside setting the smoothness of a surface to change the vertex normals?

It is possible to manually edit a normal in XSI, Maya and 3DMax but I cannot find it in LW.

I've seen the Normal Baker Tools... but it won't allow me to change the geometry afterward.

I want to know this because our real time 3d engine uses vertex normals for lighting. LW seems to hide vertex normals from the user... because they exist in the sdk.

Someone know about this?

Hi Laf,
unfortunately there is no way. They are also no preserved throughout the pipeline even though at least LWO supports them.
It would be nice to have for CAD transfered geometry as well...
