What is the best way to get a motorcycle trottle cable to move with the rotating of the front forks? scott

In the Dynamics folder of the Content folder there is a scene using cables. There might be some ideas there for you.

Seems like a classic IK application:

1) Build the cable with a lot of segments, curved as connected between the bike and the throttle. Using a good surface texture, might only need 8 sides or so.
2) Draw in Skelegons, longer at end fixed to the bike, shorter towards forks end. Be sure the skelegons are aligned with the cable. The more skelegons, the smoother curvature as it moves.
3) Send to Layout, convert Skelegons, set all to IK. The last one should have a goal object which will be parented to the forks. The SetupIK.ls script attached (old Skeleton Maker functionality) will do the complete job.
4) Parent the IK goal to the forks (parent in place, probably) then move to the correct position.
5) As the forks rotate (along with the parented IK goal), oughta get nice IK motion.
