View Full Version : Lightwave SDK gone from the Newtek site?

A silly question perhaps, but what've happened to the SDK downloads which used to be publicly available from Newtek's site? Any links to ".../lightwave/developer/" subdirectories which are offered by site search when one enters 'sdk' as query return broken '404' page, and there's no sign of compiled sdk .zip files in the download section, either.

Just curious since if nothing else, at least the file formats specifications available to general public were quite helpful in getting wider Lw support from 3rd party tools...

Google for sdk site:newtek.com. The second hit is the LW SDK (http://www.newtek.com/products/lightwave/developer/LW80/8lwsdk/docs/).

Cool. but try to do the same using Newtek's own Site Search (http://www.newtek.com/search/) (which is what i eventually used in lack of any visible, straightforward link on the Lw product pages) It'll provide you with 3-4 links which appear to lead into the SDK area... except all of them are broken.

Kinda funny google knows better where everything is on Newtek's site than NT itself. ;s

You can also get SDKs from D-Storm (http://www.dstorm.co.jp/products/lw8/developer/download/tool.htm). I went there to get the 5.6 SDK to compile an old plugin.

The SDK is there:

Developers Page (http://www.newtek.com/products/lightwave/developer/LW80/index.html)

Just a bit difficult to find in the current mennu structure. Should be better by later this afternoon, when the new page design with Developers in the left side menu is online...and I'll update the link in this post at that time.

Note, 6/11/05: Didn't get the revised site deployed yet - looks like it may be Monday.

Thank you Chuck, that'd be a most welcome improvement ^^
