View Full Version : adding plug ins from shaders org

I downloaded some shaders from shaders.org and have a hard time
loading the plug ins to lightwave 8.3.
I'm on a Windows XP system, and I believe I'm following directions, but when
I press the "add plug-in" and open the folders where it's been unzipped,
there's no file listing. ( only .pst files).

does anyone know the proper steps?

sounds like your downloading end texture files which assume you already have
the IFW textures plugin installed. In which case the easiest way is to make a new folder in:

PATH:/Lightwave [8]\Programes\Presets\Surface Editor\Surface Preset

Something like IFW_Textures or whatever. The put all the PST files in that
folder, and they will open in a selection named for the folder in the Surface Preset Shelf.

The IFW plugins are about a dozen plugins, all ending in .p so make sure you have the right files first.

The post said Shaders.org. These are not the IFW2 texture plugins, but actually should be 2 plugins named shades2d.p and shades3d.p. These plugins should be found withinin the Surfaces Shader tab section.
