View Full Version : DVDIT 2.5 snag on VT2 / Win XP ?

Using my DVDIT 2.5 for the first time since my VT2 was rebuilt.

Previous system was Win 2000, now it's Win XP.

I was told by my dealer that DVDIT 2.5 should also be compatible with XP.

When I put together a simple two button menu with two short videos and tell it to make DVD (test) it almost finishes the test run before coming back with an "unknown error" message.

The new DVD burner in the system is a dual layer. -> ( AOPEN DUW1608/ARR) is what the properties tab shows.

Could possibly be a conflict between burner and DVDIT version installed - possibly not.

I have a project I need to get out for the company I'm working with - and I would like for it to look nice - otherwise I would use my standalone Panasonic DVD burner to make the DVD.

Any ideas?

You are using DVDit to burn the DVD (as well as author it).
You need to either get an update to the DVDit program you are using that supports dual-layer burners (even if you are only buring to single layer) or

Buy a new authoring/burning program [DVD Workshop comes with VT4 or DVD-Lab are good ones] or

have DVDit create the DVD & save the folders to the hard drive & use a program like Nero to actually burn the DVD (the latest verison will support dual layer drives)
