Being that SGI was once a Big LW player (during the 5.6 days). Will there be any future support for IRIX? I talking in lines of the rendering support like the Linux LWSN thats all. There will be no real need to go all out with modeller and Layout support but with all the big Irons out there the rendering support will be cool. THen I could put some of my Old SGI boxes to some good use.

HEY CHUCK! that's TWO of us who would like to be able to use screamernet under Irix.

(of course, I may end up selling my O2 to help pay for my upgrade to LW8...)

I have an o2 and a Indigo2. Even though they are "slow" compare to the newer machines but as far as those long over night (or a few days) renders IRIX is real solid. I will dig if Newtek will bring back some Solaris support (I'm loaded with UltraSparcs servers).
With a Linux LWSN a IRIX or Solaris version can't be too hard to do, its not like LW was never on those platform.
I think a IRIX or Solaris LWSN will be a good move for Newtek being that alot of shop still run SGI and Solaris (for Renderman stuff)
