Just completed an animated photo montage for a DVD I've been working on for a client - most of this was done in LW....

Video here (http://www.bakersvideo.com/Montage.wmv)

Comments appreciated,

Adrian.

How'd you do the videos floating around in space? Did you do that in LW?

What is a .wmv file? Could you please post quicktime or .mpg movies in this forum! Thanks.

WMV (Windows Media Video) is pretty standard guys, even for Mac users. It offers similar performance in terms of quality and file size as Quicktime.

Pretty good montage, by the way.

It looks pretty good. Don't be afraid to bring the video or photos full screen. If you would, please contact Bob Tasa and see what he would need to convert this to a LWConnect Scene. I think his email address is: bob at toastergarage dot com

Thanks for the comments. What is a lightwave connect scene?

I can't post a different format right now because I'm at work, but to be honest I'm surprised people are having trouble viewing it as has already been stated, wmv format is widely used.

Yes, the 3d screens bit was done in LW - fairly simple subD objects placed in a scene with a camera flying between them. Nothing too complex really, with 3 emitters added for the sparks when the lightning hits.

Lightwave Connect is a plug-in for those of us with VT3 or VT4. Basically, it allows one to put video and stills into the editor and choose a Lightwave scene (formatted for Lighwave Connect) and have the video/stills automatically map onto specified 3D surfaces. All without going into Lighwave.

This is the first .wmv to not work on my system. It starts, but then it has to re-buffer in the same spot everytime, but never completes the re-buffer. It eventually quits trying.

Works OK for me - but a lot of waiting for the buffer to fill up again - must be a slow connection.

Err.. where are all the fat people before they get fit? ;-)

Ok, here's an MPG version - should work for everyone :)

Cliick Here (http://www.bakersvideo.com/montage.mpg)

The file is 18mb - couldn't get it any lower than this without substantial loss of quality.

He's a guy that doesn't write LW code but could.

LWConnect is here: http://toastergarage.com/lwconnect.

I'm not Bob Tasa but I assisted with the product. Have a read and ask away.

Hi Pierre,

I took the original file down as it was so big. If you go to my website:

www.bakersvideo.com (http://www.bakersvideo.com)

and go to the "video/dvd" section, it's the one in the middle (it's a 3.2mb Flash file) - this is just the section created with LW. Due to compression, the movement is a little jerky but it's not too bad.

Adrian.

P.S. You'll need at least Flash player 6 to view the site.
