What is going on?

When I select a point or face in modeler it will not always show as selected. I have to pan or scrowll my view port before the selected point will show up. Sometimes it selects facs I donít select.

My computer is new and LW8 was the first program I installed.

I have been running lightwave for years with different configurations without any problems so could it have to do with the new PCI-express graphic card system?

My computer:
P4,
1 GB Ram
Graphic card: Radeon X300, 256 mb PCI-express

have you tried upgrading your latest graphics drivers?

AFAIK LW has had these Open GL issues for a while.
I basically have the same problem as you.

Tricks I use is to hit Tab key twice in Modeler or Layout.
Strange thing is that it used to work fine with the same graphics card (FX5200) but with new Shuttle PIV motherboard +DDR it started making bugs.

Maybe 8.3 will fix it?
You might find info in Bug Workshop (http://vbulletin.newtek.com/showthread.php?t=32741) post

There have been a few threads created about people having problems with ATI cards and LW. LW is not the only card that's having problems with ATI cards. I got the same problems in Maya too when I had to use an ATI card.

Yupp, ATI cards are not recommended.
(Is the problem constant? Here the problem comes and goes (running LW 8.2)
