I'm trying to simulate cloth draping over a babies crib, so I can export the object back into modeller. The only problem is I can't seem to get it to work.

I'm basing my files on Timothy Albees tut in Essential Lightwave, but the results I get are wierd.

The image attached shows the simplified gemetry for the crib and overhanging wire, and the cloth that is breaking through it.

I also had results where it started to look pretty good, but would then go completely mental, with cloth exploding everywhere.

I will try and nut this out over the weekend, but any help always appreciated.

Over and Out

Thanks Wade.

That site is awesome. So helpful to visually see what the settings actually do.

Cheers mate

OK. I think I'm making progress.

Attached are two images showing where I'm up to at the moment. As you can see the collision is working, but the fabric is stretching like toffee.

What I would like is for the cotton to gather itself as it drapes over the pole. Is this possible? The only setting that I could find in the manual was the stretch limit, which I have already reduced to 0%.

Any thoughts?

Have you increase the spring and sub structure values to around 1000?

Thanks Dodgy. I increased those values and decreased the weight slightly, and it seems to do the trick. Thanks for the tips.
