You need to talk to the folks at Adtec Inc. They are located in Nashville, TN.
They make equipment that does this very well. Don't have there number
right now but their website address is www.adtecinc.com

Adtec stuff is great, but best as an advert inserter or a very cost effective, high quality contribution link encoder/stream from studio to TX.

If you want to PLAYOUT a channel, with a series of MPEG2 programmes (and DV) then playbox.tv do airbox, a full automation sytem that rums on a PC with a cheap blackmagic decklink or digisuite output card. Costs around a $1000 for the software - an excellent companion to a VT

We use a Vela Cineview card.

We have a few different systems. I just bought an ADTEC soloist 2, while waiting for the Soloist 3, which remains vaporware. This was a good fairly low cost solution, but it's limited in space to about 160 gigs, if I remember correctly.

We're using SeaChange for our ad insertion and I'm just now working with VELA encoder & decoder for Local Video on Demand.

I did look into several other manufacturers, I think the file is at home, if you would like others to compare let me know and I'll look it up.

I wanted something "cheap" as an interim.

ADTEC Soloist $3500
All others I looked at $12K - 15K

VELA is very good stuff and it appears ADTEC is too.
