View Full Version : Plug-in for reducing poly count in terrain mesh

I am looking for a plugin that will take a mesh and optimize the polygon distribution, basically reducing a consistent grid of polygons down to a few polygons. Where we find a grid of 10,000 x10,000 poly's that are mostly flat, it makes it into about 300 (or so) polys where we find moslty flatness. I hope this makes sense.

Do a search on flay for Qemloss3, that plugin will reduce your polys by the percentage you enter. It is an updated version of the one in Lightwave 8. It may also triple the polys, So trigonsX comes to mind for converting tripled polys to quads.
