Hi,
After getting the upgrade to LW 6 from 5.6 a few months after it came out, I pretty much haven't touched it since. Well, I'm finally getting back into computer graphics, and I'd like to get back into it. There's only one little problem. The input fields on my computer are white with yellow numbers making it impossible to read unless I go through and select them individually. See picture:

I'm running:
WinXP
Geforce II Ultra w/43.45 drivers
Direct X 9
1.2 ghz Athlon
A7V motherboard

Any ideas on how to remedy this?
Also, is there any place to download the upgrade to 6.5b still?

Thanks,

John Gordon

This is resolved in 7.5, it's a known issue. It's due to having multiple language support installed on your PC.

How do I nuke the multi language support? I just can't bring myself to upgrade to 7.5 when the upgrade that cost me $500 doesn't work right on my system. fishy...

Thanks,
John

I think you should find it under Add and Remove Programs. I don't think the cause of the problem existed when 6.0 came out, so don't go getting all paranoid.

Well, I keep on looking under add/remove + windows components menu, and I don't see the multi-language support in the lists. Do you know if this is an XP only issue?

Thanks again,

John

I've got XP on my PC and I dont have this textbox problem. it might be the multilanguage support thing suggested before. Lightwave 6, 6.5, 7 and 7.5 all work fine on my XP Pro computer.

As much as I wish it was multilanguage support, I don't think that's the problem. To have multilanguage support you have to download it, and install it I'm told, which I've never done. Also I've checked many times over, and it's just not there (add/remove folder + win components). Would you mind telling me your system specs VWTornado? Maybe something else is causing it.

Either that or multilanguage support is hiding somewhere and I can't find it.

My machine is a Dell Dimensions 4100 with a Pentium 3 800mhz, 512 MB of RAM, 128 MB nVidia GeForce 4 Ti4200 video card with (almost) the latest drivers, Windows XP Professional, and a second nVidia video card for dual monitors. I am using Lightwave 7.5b right now, but I have 6.0 and all the other updates, and they all worked fine.

Yes, that's the problem.

Here, I'll research for you...

There you go.
