anybody had sucess using this network renderer from mac to control pcs ?

we are using tequila right now that works great (on PCs), but we might have to add "screamnet controller for osx" controller for the guys that use macs

anybody tried it, is it stable on big scenes ?

thanks

It's not a good idea to mix processor families on render farms. They all (the three main that is: PowerPC, AMD and Intel) have different ways of generating random numbers that could result in slight differences between frames from one machine and another.

I know, it would not be for animation, but does osx controller work well ?

I was thinking at the office to have people on mac render on the pc renderfarm and if there is an emergency, a group can render on the pc renderfarm and the other group can render on some of the macs we have.

we have tequila which is great on pc, but because it's pc-only , they need
a network controller that they can use too... and they need to be able to access the pc- renderfarm too..

so we would have 2 network controller, tequila and osx controller.

it would be nice if newtek could give us a new version of their network controller,
one that is dual mac/pc , and stable on both..

I see. Well I haven't used Bruce Rayne's controller, but I have heard nothing but good reports about it.
