View Full Version : Deformation Wierdness

I have a strange problem that I have had appear on multiple machines now, and I can't seem to stear clear of it.

I have a character that I have rigged and he seems to work fine, but then when I save out the scene and re-open it the next day this is what I get

If I turn off "Enable Deform" the character returns to normal, but then I can't animate him.

I am using LW 8.2.1, and wonder if anyone else has encountered this. I need this guy ASAP for an animation due by friday.

I also have this problem every time i try to animate, the whole mesh just goes all over the place

Are you using Motion Mixer in the scene? Because I've had that same problem.

Have you rested your bones?

Thanks for the suggestions. All was working perfectly until I saved the scene and re-opened it later.

No Motion Mixer.

Bones are all rested, and set to zero points.

Weight maps are all where they are supposed to be.

I can set up the rig in LW 7.5 and have no troubles with it. Only when I try and set it up in 8, do I get this problem.

This is driving me insane!!

I may have found the problem.

I started over again from scratch and saved a level for every change I made, then re-loaded the scene to determine when the wierdness occured.

Everything was going fine until I "Record Piv Rot" (Shift+P) on several of the bones. At first everything looked OK, then when I re-loaded the scene it was all messed up again.

This is definitely a major bug, that I have never had problems with before version 8, hopefully this is something that Newtek can address soon as it is a major hang-up to character animation work.

Hopefully this fixes the problem.

Any other tips, I am open to hear them.

Are you using targeting on any RPR bones?
