I just had to test the new Lightquality option in F-Prime 1.5.

Image 1: Default setting-0.500.
1 Arealight was used with quality 5.
Rendertime-5 min.

Now...Lightquality 2.0.
Rendertime: 7minutes.

"Newtek has begun work on extending its plugin interface (SDK). FPrime uses the new LightWave 8.2 "hooks" to better integrate with Layout. One effect of these new hooks supports subpatch "Subdivide Last" mode. "

I Subdivided Last
Render subpatchlevel:6.

Thank you, Worley

I'm sorry but they look the same.....Is there a difference in the originals? My 40 year old eyes fail to see any difference.....Thanks

Ravantra, sorry, I should have mentioned that. Everything is the same in both pic.
I only changed the FPrime`s Lightquality

In pic.1 there is quite grainy shadow on the wall, using lightq.0.500.
Pic.2 has much less grains and softer shadows using lightq.2.0.

That has been some problem with F-Prime using
aeralights producing much grain. But now by setting your lightq. a little higher,
one can render very nice scenes with aeralights, producing nice, soft shadows.
Of course, higher settings=longer rendertimes, but one have to make a balance there.

Take a close look and you should be able to see the difference between
the 2 shadows on the wall. In a big scene with many objects, maybe this had been alot easier to see.

Tiger...Yes I finally see it in the shadows...subtle but noticable. Thanks.
