Iíve been working on a dark adult swim kind of animation forever.

Good ~vs~ Evil kind of stuff.

Think I got the modeling down (finally) but setting up the weight maps and bones are just not working. Iíve read tutorials and bought training videos but Iím just not getting it to work.

I donít know what character rigging type stuff costs but Iím willing to play (a reasonable amount Ė whatever that is.) to get this project moving.

Any suggestions?

Thanx, Russ

I'm one of these people who doesn't use weight maps that much. The only time I do use them is with particularly tricky bits, and then I usually use one map to cover multiple bones. For example I might have a 'Left leg' map which I apply to thigh/calf/foot bones just to keep them from cross influencing the right leg, and vice versa.

I don't use particularly complex rigs either, prefering to grab bits and drag them about rather than have controllers to do things for me.

Hmm I had the same questions a while ago and found a good tutorial online the other day.

Here is the authors website

After watching his hours of tutorials things started to make sence for me.
