Here's some Volumetric Lighting FX I've been playing around with for the intro sequence of my demo reel.

Any feedback welcome.

i couldnt open those files..
it said something like: could not open file, it's not a file that quicktime understands..

thats because it is a ZIP FILE... www.winzip.com get it and then u can see


seems u were right... sorry... my bad.

just finished downloading... opened zipfile... and... get the same error

ps... sorry again :D

Uuuugggh not sure what's wrong. i think if you try to save them to the desktop it might try to save them as attachment.php files but if you change them to 001.mov etc you should be able to see them okay.

Looks pretty cool to me. Kinda like a trail left behind after a comet.

What exactly were you going for with the effect?

At the moment just experimenting to see what I can get it to do. I'd like to do an intro sequence with reflective text and moving transparent layers, will see how it works out. It would be great if I could get the lightbeam to travel around corners, not sure how that will work??

like the first one alot. the second one looks like a laser, pretty cool.
it's interesting the effects you can get using vlights.
