I'm currently working on the Normal mapping tutorial (simplylightwave (http://forum.simplylightwave.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=3746)).

I've a big problem here and can't seem to find out what the problem is.

I loaded the first and seconden layer, the first is the low poly model and the second is the high poly model.
When I add a UV map to the low poly model I get a lot of lose polygons but not the same 2 kinda model as shown in the video.

The second problem pops up when I've selected the first layer and the second one in background and than select the Normalmapcreate plugin, I select the UVmap at the low-res UV map popup and I used the setting 512 and 1024 for normal map resolution.
At low-res UV map popup I chosed serveral UV map's, even the one that arrives with the tutorial.

when I press OK Lightwave asks me to save an image, so I save it and then I get the following error: "No polygons to export".

Can someone help me with this ?

You can't use create normal map on a model with subpatches on. You need to freeze the object first.

I'm not sure about the problem with the uv map without seeing yours and theres, but I'd suggest that because they aren't exactly the same that they're getting uv mapped differently.

Woah, ok, it looks like you've unwelded every vertex. Merge all the points and then make a uv map again and you shouldn't have this problem.
