I've put together a robot arm as part of an experiment with inverse kinematics, and I'd like to have an animation where the arm picks up balls and moves them. My problem is getting the ball to move with the arm.

Is there any way of doing this besides moving the ball to the new location of the arm? I tried doing this but the movement is very imprecise. Can I "attach" the ball to the robot arm, so it will actually follow the robot arm without my having to move it?

I'm not big on the animation side of things, but maybe parent the arm to the ball, so you move the ball and the arm follows? You don't do it the other way, because when the arm moves to pick up the ball, the ball would move.

Do a search for Dynamic Parenting.. that might help you..
