Can anyone give me some tips/pointers on how to improve this scene?
Iím quite happy with the Tracking and I know that itís missing the shadow on the wall. Any comments on the animation and how to improve the compositing gratefully received.

Are you a Mac user? If so, sorry, there aren't any good DivX players.. Not that I've found anyhoo..

Maybe it's just my monitor but I can't see a thing between the building.

Not bad, the motion looks very natural. And I think the lighting works too. Its a little hard to tell because of the compression and the fact that you really don't see the feet touch the ground.

So are you going to add fur soon? I'd love to see it with that!

looks good, Id just work to make the model surfaces more realistic, then It would be great

Thanks for the comments.

no Im not a mac user. but i thought the divx palyed on mac. They have a mac download on the divX site http://www.divx.com/divx/mac/

but I'll post a QT as well later tonight

Is it the pictures, video or both you cant see well. It looks fine on my moniter and TV.

Any one Know of any moniter calibraters I could Try ?

Thanks, I used some documentary footage of lions as reference. What do you mean by the feet not touching the ground? do you mean that the shadows are not dark enough?
as for fur I've only got saslite and the model is past the poly limit.
plus I want the fur so short im not sure it would look any better.

thanks, what do you think the surfaces need? more glossy, diffuse ect

Great post!!

maybe a hair shader, sas lite.

What did you use for the tracking???

02-15-2003, 02:13 AM
your cat is reallyy cool, very scary..... textures please.....

02-15-2003, 02:13 AM
Icarus for tracking ??

02-15-2003, 06:42 PM
Yep thats Icarus in action. for those of you who dont know http://aig.cs.man.ac.uk/icarus/index.php

It does have textures. Just a light tan. It used to have tiger stripes but I like the lion colour better. Perhaps I need to increase the contrast on the texture map to make it more visible.

I've posted a Quicktime for the mac's

Would you need a fur shader to recreate a surface like this?

If you look closely the Fur is very short and thick. I donít think SasLite would be up to the task. But Ill look in to it over the week. Could it be possible to use standard surfacing to recreate the fur look? Bump on an incidence angle? Something like that.

Any Ideas?

I found a velvet shader on Flay.com that may do the trick. I'm modeling a bee character and the shader seem to have the "fine" fuzy look that's not quite hair or fur. Give it a spin.

I thought you could achieve the velvet results with gradients in LW... I would give sas lite a try.
