View Full Version : TIF concern over screamernet on PCs

after installing 8.2.1,
I still have the 'problem' with TIF files when rendering on network.
(see picture)
I replaced the TIF.p with the one that came with 8.0.1 and it works fine.

since 8.2 and now 8.2.1, this problem just showed up..
what difference is there between those 2 tif.p files?

should I use the new one even if there is a warning everytime it loads a tif,
or should I keep the old one (from 8.0.1) until it's fix ?

I know this probably doesn't help, but why use TIF files?

yes that doesn't help much .. :)

I used to use jpg for textures but after large projects, I started being more careful
about texture memory..

so tif because I can convert them to 8bit and also because like jpg, you can quickly
see a thumbnail preview with winXP (in the explorer, file dialog,etc..)
very very useful.

I wish you could install something in XP to be able to support more format for thumbnails , like tga,etc...
probably exist, just did not find it yet..

which file format you are using ?

No that makes, I use a mix of TGA, Photoshop, PNG, depends what mood I'm in!

You're right though, I too wish Windows would support thumbnails for more formats.
