Aha, there you are! :)

Remember that little tip gave us all regarding straightening splines in modeller (a while back now) basically selecting two points and adding one in the middle creates a straight section out of a curved one . . .

Is there an actual command for it? So I don't have to add a point I can just select the two points and click 'Straighten Segment' or something, it would be much easier and a more user friendly way of doing it too!

I'm not Splinegod, but you could try writing a little script.
That idea of yours wouldn't be too hard to do.

In point mode select a point in the middle of the splines. Change over to poly mode and select the spline. Add a point to the spline and it will snap over the the selected point making the spline straight there.

I knew how to do it, just wondered whether here was an actual command for the function.

Interestingly while messing with Beziers in modeller, I noticed another 'hidden' feature.

If you double-click the handles it keeps the tangency by default instead of broken beziers.
