We have had our Toaster for a few months now. And right now, the way we communcate to our camera people are by walkie-talkies. It's not working out well for us at all. I was wondering what kind of communication systems anyone else uses and where I can find out more. Thanks for any help.

You could consider using the 'Push to Talk' cellular phones. They work pretty good, as long as you have a cell signal.

push to talk phones dont allow you to talk to more tehn one person at a time. i recomend motorola talk about radios with headsets they work really well have multiple channels and a range fo 5 miles

Hey, thanks for responding everyone. Video_guy, with the ones you were talking about, would it make it easier for me to hear the people who are talking from inside a noisy area. For example, my camera operators are in the middle of the church service and often times it gets really loud or there's music playing and when they talk, it's impossible for me to hear them with our wonderful walkie-talkie system. ;-) With the headsets, would it help to hear them better?? Also, do you know of a website that I could take a look at with them on it? Thanks so much!

I'd recommed a full duplex system with headsets and beltpacks. You can find them made by RTS and Clearcom.

Here is a link to a basic base station and headset & beltpack option for Clearcom:

http://www.clearcom.com/products/4000/2-wireSystem.html

You don't want to use a walkie talkie type of set up (even when they look like headsets) where only one person can talk at a time because if 2 users try to talk at the same time, no communication happens. Better yet, someone walks in with a camcorder with wireless mic on the same frequency as the headsets and they all get screwed up.

Here's another link for intercoms ystems.

Good luck!

Avebeno...
Thanks! I think that this is what I've been looking for, I just didn't know where to look. Do you know how much these things are on average? I looked at the sites, but I didn't see any prices. Maybe I just didn't look good enough. Thanks again!
