hello,

im trying to use motion baker modifier on a character with ik legs.
at the moment im totally confused  nothing works
i start a new simple scene with root null - three bones - IK goal.
the ik chain is animated over 15 frames. easy and simple.
my steps:
select bone1 press "m" for motion options and add modifier "motion baker"
I'm baking in 'use existing mode' with rotation boxes checked.
i do the same for all the bones in the chain.
ok, im applying the motion Bake modifier to all the bones in the ik chain and
then running "make preview" or drag slider from frame 0 to 15.
motion baker modifier creates a key frame at each frame for all those bones but still the motion does not transfer when I deactivate IK. whats wrong?
i have done different test with the motion baker settings and its always the same s..t. keys are created but when i deactivate ik nothing works.
there is another problem. when i bake the bones i get some crazy movements.

i need help.
thx
mb

Don`t bake on frame 0 if you have overwrite keys checked. The motion goes haywire.

Here`s a before and after baking example scene. Hope it helps.

You'll have to change your channels' controllers back to Keyframes from Inverse Kinematics. It used to be that you didn't have to as long as IK was disabled, but I think with 8.2 this changed.

Hi folks,

@dodgy: in 7.5c You have to change the bones to keyframes, too, even when
IK is disabled...
