I'm needing to research a new video card for a few Macs that will be running LW. Right now we're only using 64 MB cards, and 2 monitors. From what I can tell in the system profiler, each monitor is only getting 32 MB VRAM - sluggish for complex scenes.
Does anyone have any cards to suggest/avoid?
Anyone upgrade recently to a newer card, did you notice a big improvement?

thanks

As far as I've heard, and noticed, LW is not very dependant on the video card. This computer recently got bumped from a 9600 Pro with 64 megs to a 9800 Pro SE with 256 megs and it didn't get much faster in LW.

I replaced my 32mb geforce 2 MX with a Geforce4 TI 128MB a year ago and have to say I only noticed a slight improvement in polygon counts in modellor - I wasnt that impressed. The big difference I got was when I upgraded my processor from 667mhz to 1.4 Ghz (Sonnet) so I think and have read Lightwave is not very well optimised for graphics card and open gl on mac. So my opinion: you will get a slight improvement but the cost of cards on the Mac makes it not worth it!
