This has to be possible.

How would you animate a chain of a ten-speed bike? I知 interested in the actual movement of the chain. I知 at a lost on how to move close-looped geometry such as this chain. Similar solution would be use in moving the tread of a tank. This has to be possible. Please chime in.

Hey William,
Long time no talk. You still in Broadripple? May have to stop by...

There are at least two ways to do it: the tank tread way and with a bone chain. Prem's Relativity has a scene to copy just this type of action.
The other way is to do it with a bone chain. With this, the droop on the bottom would be pretty easy to achieve. Mark Dunakin has a tute called "Slug" that explains this, if you are not familiar with it; and Prem has the snakemaker in Relativity.

William Vaughn posted something on this topic, too, as [8] was coming out.

Hope that helps.
