dfo you have any example videos of the content from your tutorials as there's nothing to see when i visit your site except for seom text and two qiucktime logo's that do nothing...

edit...okay the rushing water mov just came in!....i'm on dial up here so it took an age to show up....is there one for the storm fx also...still waiting to see if there will be one loading or not...

edit!...okay that one finally popped in!...DOH!

I made a minor update to the site which shows thumbnails of the tutorial images as well as the quicktime animations...

If you have quicktime loaded on your CPU you should be able to see them

At this time I haven't addressed downloaded versions but will look into it

Thanks guys, you can expect more tutorials in the next week or so also ;)

So I take it the UK ones been posted :D
To be honest I had told myself I was not going to buy any more tut's but these seem so related to possible real projects I had to give them ago, I'm hoping to shoe horn the Storm FX into creating cloud formations for instance. ;)

02-17-2005, 09:27 AM
The UK, Greece, France, Austria, and other countries have shipped...

02-17-2005, 12:49 PM
and Canada....?

02-17-2005, 12:52 PM
Canada, Switzerland, and Ireland too :o

02-23-2005, 06:21 PM
Has any one received these two videos yet?

I am thinking of ordering them tonight. And I am just wondering what other people who have received them, think of them.

02-23-2005, 09:01 PM
I ordered the waterFX one and I like it a lot....
The only thing is that the modeling part is very basic.
Kinda for an absolute noobie... the FX part is great though.

Bottom line is that it's definitely worth the $15

02-24-2005, 12:13 AM
Very satisfied with both StormFX and WaterFX.

Yes, the modeling parts of the videos were basic, but that's not what the videos were about.

The particle effect tutes were informative and very comprehensible, I learned quite a bit!

Highly recommended.

I just wish Hypervoxels rendered faster now :D

02-24-2005, 02:09 AM
Got mine the other day, been laid up so not had the chance to "play" yet ;)
One thing though - how the heck did you get such good compression on the AVI -> zip process? Every time I've tried I get minimal if any reduction. Do tell :)

02-24-2005, 05:37 AM
I use Adobe Premier for editing and output the smallest file I can, and then just compress using Windows... ;)

Thanks again for the kind comments guys. The feedback has been very positive, We are working on the next tuts and hope to have them out very soon... :o

02-24-2005, 06:35 AM
looking forward to getting mine soon :)

02-24-2005, 11:10 AM
We can all hope that with F-Prime V??? we'll have faster HV's ;)

TO: kml12

I am interested in purchasing your Storm & Water video for our business (Intro offer of 15.00 USD)
Do you take Mastercard?

02-24-2005, 12:52 PM
Yes, we take Visa, MasterCard, Amex, and Discover...

02-24-2005, 08:31 PM

Our host has confirmed it :( , we can not offer our tutorials in a downloadable form. The tutorials are just to big, they range between 500MB and 700MB each...

Having our customers download them would eat up our bandwidth

02-25-2005, 10:05 AM
Kml12 any idea when my order was posted or and when I should recieve it through the post??

02-25-2005, 10:17 AM
Your tutorials shipped on 2/17, via U.S. Global Priority Mail which typically delivers within 6-8 business days. So you should have it any day now

02-25-2005, 10:31 AM
Cooooool would be nice tomorrow to have a look at the tuts then straight into Captain Scarlet, be the start of a great weekend :D
Thanks for the info :)

02-25-2005, 04:59 PM
My Pleasure...

Look for a new announcement from us on Monday :D

02-25-2005, 10:03 PM
I know it says the tutes are introductory priced, but is there any chance they will stay at the current level?

02-26-2005, 06:45 AM
Our goal is that every new tutorial will be introduced at a reduced price. We'll have to see how things work out over time with regards to keeping them in the lower price bracket...

Badlarma, We are getting emails from customers in the UK that they have received the tutorials so keep checking that mail box...

02-26-2005, 10:59 PM

i check back monday and then place my order...as i might want what's on offer on monday eh??! :)

Nice contest! I think I will enter... :)

Real FX Volume I...what will we learn from that one?

Thanks for great tutorials!

02-28-2005, 12:22 PM
Happy to hear you enjoyed the tuts...

We wanted a way to say thank you to our customers, and to have some fun at the same time :)

02-28-2005, 08:03 PM
Real FX will focus on easy real world rendering techniques... ;)

03-01-2005, 11:13 AM
Oh, thats great! I love those tutorials!
Do you accept standing orders?

03-01-2005, 11:19 AM
If by standing you mean pre-orders, no. We've seen many companies make promises and not keep them :( . Our goal is to have a few new tutorials per month ;)

03-01-2005, 12:37 PM
I meant more like "whatever new cd comes out, send it to me. Carge my Visa".
That would be a great service :)

Anyway, I will buy all of them :)

03-01-2005, 12:41 PM
Ahhh, I see. That would be interesting, have to think about that one... :)

Shipping Update...

We've had some shipments not being delivered as expected, after investigating the issue it appears that our local PO (Located in the Chicagoland Area) had some problems with getting some shipments out. The issue has been resolved, so if your have not received your tutorials (Domestic and International) please be patient, they are on their way...

03-11-2005, 02:38 PM

03-11-2005, 03:13 PM
Unfortunately we don't have enough band width to provide downloads...

But your order is in and will ship immediately :D
