i've been a long time admirer of the quality of work from it's ming:-

http://www.its-ming.com

he's a lightwaver and his quality and quantity of work is amazing..so i was wondering if newtek ever did a profile on him and his work?....love to hear how he set up and any background info on him...i first saw his work in 1999 with sweet like chocolate music video which was rendered/animated in 3dsmax with hypermatter but the characters came from "it's-ming" who also made characatures of the musicians for the video with lightwave.

my own style for toon characters is simialr to "it's-ming" but i havn't made the hundereds of characters he has..............yet!

check him out.

nice thread....

just like to add that a client of mine in canada in 2001 used it's ming for some work on some t.v advertising over there...i rigged up the "it's ming" characters in 3ds max 4 for him as a freelancer way back then...was interesting to rig up someone elses characters and yeah they are hi poly..no sub d/metanurbs or meshsmooth...though they did rig okay they were slow to animate in the viewport...

his models do rock though...they have a nice acceptable look to them that lend themslves very well for advertising products...

here's a link to the work i did back then [my early character animation days so be kind!]
